Nigerians born in the 70s will remember Sadiq Daba. He worked as a broadcaster for the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA). His acting career came to prominence in the late 1970s, starring in ‘Cockcrow at Dawn’.

Personal Life

Sadiq Daba announced his diagnosis of leukemia and prostate cancer in 2017 and was supported with fundraising by several Nigerians including Mabel Oboh and Josephine Obiajulu Odumakin.

On February 3, 2018, the veteran broadcaster joined Project Pink Blue to walk against cancer to commemorate World Cancer Day.

He died on 3 March 2021 at the Ayinka General hospital in Ikeja, Lagos. He is survived by his wife, Bolaji Daba, children and other relatives.
